What you will need to succeed
MSc in a relevant STEM subject (Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Quantum Physics, Maths, Computer Science).
Relevant commercial sales / business development experience.
Or a PhD research background, with the willingness to develop into a business development position.
Experience in data science products or services, with a particular interest in one of the following: material informatics, financial services, automation of internal processes, optimisation, operational research or life sciences.
Familiarity with quantum algorithms and machine learning or optimisation techniques.
Demonstrate a passion to stay up-to-date with the most important QML scientific & technical literature.
Exceptional soft skills and the ability to interact with clients and internal scientific teams.
Good English speaking ability to converse with global teams.
Preferred
Familiarity with implementation of quantum software on near-term quantum hardware.
Experience in scientific software development in an academic or industrial environment.

This role supports business development and product development activities, focusing on Cambridge Quantum’s cutting edge and emerging products relating to QML. This is a client-facing role, in which you will be responsible for selecting and developing relationships with some of the world’s leading global companies. You will identify the challenges clients are facing, educate on Cambridge Quantum technologies and communicate the value proposition of our QML products and services. You will also play a pivotal role in developing products. Through regular market and competitor analysis, you will help steer our scientists on areas of application and new features, capabilities and use cases that will enhance our offering.
You will be joining a team of enthusiastic science and tech professionals that are using quantum algorithms to crack some of the most pressing industrial problems of our clients, that are leading worldwide companies in finance, life sciences, energy and transportation, to name a few. This role will offer the successful candidate plenty of growth opportunities both professionally and in terms of technical skills, particularly in areas such as product development, research and algorithms.
