Thane Ritchie is a widely respected and successful businessman with a primary focus in his career on trading and financial services. He started his career in the commodities and options markets and gained extensive experience at the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He subsequently founded Ritchie Capital Markets in the 1990s. Over the course of his career, he has worked with innovative companies in the insurance, energy, technology and media sectors and in the recent past turned a signature investment fund that started with $30 million into a leading alternative investment firm overseeing more than $4 billion across a broad range of asset classes.
Thane currently oversees investments through various private equity partnerships and his family office, covering investment funds and portfolio companies at various stages of growth.
As an accomplished athlete, Thane Ritchie played tight end for the pre-season Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers teams in the late 80s and early 90s. He later spent a brief period on the USA Men’s Bobsled National Team. He attended Illinois’ Wheaton College where he was inducted into the Thunder Hall of Fame in 2007.
