Thomas Benjamin is President of Cambridge Quantum Computing, LLC, with offices in Arlington, Virginia and Berkeley, California. CQC LLC is the North American subsidiary of Cambridge Quantum Computing, Ltd. of London and Cambridge, United Kingdom. Tom was formerly Chief Operating Officer of the ANSER Corporation headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A.), the University of Illinois College of Law (J.D.), and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business (M.B.A.).
Tom previously served in several executive positions at the Central Intelligence Agency, including Deputy Director for Legislation and Deputy General Counsel. He was a co-founder of In-Q-Tel, Inc., an award-winning non-profit corporation chartered to apply innovative technology to the challenges of national security. During his last assignment at CIA, Tom served concurrently as government managing Director of the In-Q-Tel program and Deputy Director of the Office of Advanced Technologies and Programs. He was appointed to the Senior Intelligence Service in 1994, was an Intelligence Fellow Class of 1995, and was awarded the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal in 2005.
Tom retired from the US Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, as a Lieutenant Colonel after 27 years of service.
